Autumn Field Days

Updated: 12/03/2010

THERE is only so much a grower can tell from looking at pictures in a catalogue. Being able to see and feel potential need produce varieties is the best way of making an informed decision.

Fortunately, a group of seed companies have come together to host a series of on-farm field days to allow growers to see new varieties themselves and learn more about the latest developments.

Lefroy Valley and Fairbanks Seeds will showcase their products at Peter Lowe’s Farm, 945 Frankston-Dandenong Road on 15-16 April.

Bejo Seeds will open its 9 hectare farm on Hall Road, Skye on 15-16 April.

Westranell Horticultural Solutions-WHS will display lettuce and baby leaf lines off the Clyde-Five Ways Road near Moores Road, Clyde North from 13-16th April.

Vegetable variety trials

There will be hundreds of seed and plant varieties on display for growers to take a closer look at and ask questions of the qualified staff.
