From first pay period on or after Tuesday, 1st July the superannuation contribution for employees rises to 9.5%. Casual wage rates under the Horticulture Award also increase on 1st July to $21.09 per hour for Adult employees over 20 years of age or for permanent employees to $16.87 per hour.
The casual rate loading increases to 25% in lieu of annual leave, personal/carer’s leave, notice of termination, redundancy benefits and the other entitlements of full-time or part-time employment provided for in the Award. CASUAL – Ordinary hours of work are the lesser of an average of 38 hours per week or the hours required to be worked by the employer. A loading of 25% is payable on each hour from on 1st July 2014. PART-TIME – Employed to work fewer than 38 hours per week and receives pro-rata, equivalent pay and conditions as permanent employees. FULL TIME – Engaged to work an average of 38 ordinary hours per week averaged at 152 hours over 4 weeks.
