PMA Trade Day

Over 800 delegates visited the PMA Fresh Connections trade day held last week at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre as part of the Fresh Connection Australian and New Zealand Conference.

The VGA had a stand promoting Victorian grown vegetables and most of the enquiry was about what were the major vegetables grown in Victoria.

There was also some interest from exporters gaining wanting to source vegetables for export to China and the Middle East.

The Conference was held over 3 days with the first day concentrating on the digital future of the industry and how best to market products & produce as well growing your business through innovative packaging.

It was also shown that there was much to be learned from the big retailers where they succeeded and where they got it wrong.

The second day was the Trade day with a steady flow of visitors throughout the day in excess of 800 delegates.

There were over 60 stands ranging from packaging equipment to produce and a great deal of networking.

The VGA in conjunction with the PMA sponsored several younger grower members to attend the trade day.

They were shown around the trade displays by PMA Australia Marketing Manager Camilla Phillips. All agreed it was worthwhile attending.
