How good is the Australian vegetable industry’s
biosecurity preparedness ?

Horticulture Australia has commissioned Macquarie Franklin to find out. They are conducting a survey of the Australian vegetable industry, reviewing industry awareness of and preparedness for biosecurity issues.

The study will look at current practices and management of biosecurity throughout the supply chain (growers, service providers, transporters, wholesalers and retailers), developing benchmarks and identifying gaps in awareness and preparedness across the industry.

The outcomes of the survey will inform HAL of future investment of funding in this area, so it is important to get an accurate representation from across the vegetable industry.

Macquarie Franklin

VGA Victoria strongly encourages vegetable growers to participate in this survey so that a real grower perspective is reflected in the results and future investment benefits for the industry.

The survey begins in mid-July and involves online and phone interviews of growers, industry service providers, transporters and retailers/wholesalers.
