New Director for AUSVEG

Luis Gazzola Past President and current executive committee member of Vegetable Growers Association of Victoria (VGAVic) was appointed to the Board of AUSVEG at the Company’s Annual General Meeting held on Monday 21 November 2011 in Melbourne.

VGA Vic President David Wallace expressed his delight for Luis appointment after seven years as VGA Vic President, and was pleased that Luis would continue to provide valuable input into the national vegetable industry body.

AUSVEG Chairman, Mr John Brent said that Mr Gazzola would be a welcome addition to the Board. “Luis experience and passion as owner of a leading Australian vegetable growing business over several decades, is sure to be an invaluable asset not only to AUSVEG but to the industry as a whole.”

Tribute was also paid to retiring Director Mr John Said from Werribee for his contribution to the AUSVEG Board over the past three years.

AUSVEG Chairman John Brent reflected on John’s contribution to the Board and the broader industry and the valuable insight Mr Said had provided with respect to the retail sector in particular since he was appointed in 2008.

VGA-Victoria represents the interests of vegetable growers in Victoria and is the State Member of AUSVEG, the national peak industry body for over 9,000 Vegetable and Potato growers across Australia.
