VegNET Gippsland, delivered by the East Gippsland Food Cluster, designs communications to build capacity in vegetable businesses. This is the monthly eNews for growers, services providers & friends.
 

 

 

November 2018 Issue

‘VegNET’ is shorthand for the National Vegetable Extension Network. This network is a program funded by Hort Innovation comprising ten regional projects. The program is to build capacity in vegetable businesses by applying the findings of R&D to improve productivity and profitability. The ‘VegNET Gippsland’ project is being delivered by the East Gippsland Food Cluster.  It started in July 2016 and ends in April 2019. The 133rd Omeo Show

Industry Development Officer, Shayne Hyman, traversed ‘the gap’ to bring vegetable R&D to local growers, co-judge the Farm Produce exhibits, and share samples of what some of our ‘lowlands’ growers are producing.  BIG thanks to Rosengal – the baby broccoli was a hit.  Dicky Bill’s bag and tub salads caused some excitement.  And Mitchell Valley Growers – your Iceberg and Cos could not have been any fresher! Thank you ….
