Supporting Victorian growers through connection, extension and innovation

VegNET Victoria is the regional extension program supporting vegetable growers across Victoria with practical information, industry connections, events, resources and on-farm engagement.

Delivered by AUSVEG VIC, VegNET helps growers access the latest research, innovation and best-practice information in a way that is practical, relevant and useful to their businesses.

The program forms part of the national VegNET vegetable and onion industry extension program, which is funded by Hort Innovation using the vegetable research and development levy and funds from the Australian Government.

What VegNET does

• VegNET Victoria works directly with growers and industry to:
• share practical research and development outcomes;
• support adoption of new technologies and farming practices;
• connect growers with industry experts, service providers and researchers;
• deliver workshops, field days, farm walks and networking events;
• identify local grower priorities and challenges;
• provide updates on biosecurity, compliance, sustainability and production issues; and
• strengthen communication across Victoria’s vegetable industry.

Supporting growers on the ground
A key strength of VegNET is its regional, grower-focused approach. Through direct engagement with growers, VegNET helps ensure that industry information is delivered in a way that reflects real farm needs and local production challenges.
AUSVEG VIC’s strong grower network allows VegNET Victoria to connect with businesses across the state and provide support that is timely, practical and relevant.

Events, workshops and resources
VegNET Victoria supports a range of industry activities, including technical workshops, field days, grower meetings, innovation demonstrations and major events such as VicVID. AUSVEG VIC’s events bring together growers, industry leaders and stakeholders to share knowledge and drive innovation in horticulture.
These activities help growers stay informed, build connections and explore new opportunities for their businesses.

Regional Extension Advisory Group
The VegNET Victoria Regional Extension Advisory Group provides grower and industry input into the direction of the program.
The group helps identify priority topics, emerging issues and opportunities for extension activities, ensuring VegNET remains industry-led and responsive to grower needs.
